Wines

Its not good enough just to have excellent food, the wine list has to match the culinary experience. At the Masons Arms we have an extensive wine list covering the ‘Old’ and ‘New World’ wines and, critically, at sensible prices. For the red wine lovers we can an extensive geographic range from some classic Bordeauxs to excellent Errázuriz Shiraz Max Reserva from Chile’s Aconcagua Valley.

We have a good selection of white and rose wines, the latter particularly suitable for garden dining during the summer. Our current white wine starts with the superb value Los Romeros Sauvignon Blanc from Chile to the higher end Louis Jadot Chablis from Burgundy.  If its a celebration, we have six champagnes or sparkling wines to offer.

In May and June we will be selling off a number of Bin Ends which we have accumulated over the years, some fine wines and fine bargain prices.

We serve a number of ales and lagers on tap and also a have good selection of bottled beers and ciders. Our ales currently rotate between Wychwood’s Hobgoblin and Brakspear. Our standard lagers are Peroni and Amstel.

Ales

Hobgoblin label

A 4.5% APV Hobgoblin is brewed to produce a wonderfully well balanced blend of smooth, rich & satisfying flavours from chocolate & crystal malts combined with a crisp, refreshing bitterness from styrian, goldings and fuggles hops.

The legendary and deliciously dark Hobgoblin is a full bodied and well balanced ruby ale with a chocolate toffee malt flavour, moderate bitterness and a distinctive fruity character

Brakspear Label

A 3.4% APV superb traditional beer. Amber in colour with a good fruit, hop and malt nose. The initial taste of malt and the well hopped bitterness quickly dissolves into a predominantly bittersweet and fruity finish.
